Product Care
Candle Tips
- An easy way to get leftover wax out of votive holders or melt burners is to place holder/burner in the freezer for 5 minutes. Holding the holder/burner upside-down, gently tap the bottom in the palm of your hand to release the wax. Do not use holder/burner again until it has returned to room temperature or it may crack.
- To remove wax from washable fabrics, scrape off excess wax and run boiling water through the material, then wash like normal.
- If a wick is off centered while burning, use a butter knife to gently push it back to the center.
- Use scissors or wick snippers to keep wicks trimmed (before and while burning your candles).
Universal Care (applies to all candle types)
- Remove all packaging before using any product.
- Trim wicks to 1/8-1/4 inch before and while burning candles to prevent excessive smoking and sooting. It also helps your candles last longer and burn cleaner.
- Keep foreign objects and combustible materials away from burning candles.
- Keep all candles away from children and pets.
- NEVER leave a burning candle unattended!
- Do not move candles while they are burning.
- Keep candles away from drafts.
- To prevent color fading keep candles out of direct sunlight.
- Always burn candles in a well ventilated room.
- Do not extinguish candles with water. Water can cause the hot wax to splatter or glass containers to break.
- Allow candles to completely cool before moving.
Aroma Bead Air Fresheners
- To prevent possible staining or damage, do not set fresheners directly on wood, vinyl, varnished, painted or plastic surfaces. Air fresheners should hang freely.
- Air fresheners are NOT edible! Keep away from children and pets.
- Do not bend, twist or tear air fresheners.
Container Care
- Do not burn container candles longer than 4 hours at a time. Excess heat for longer periods of time may weaken glass and cause it to crack or break.
- Extinguish flame if it gets too close to the sides of the container. Discontinue burning when ½ inch of wax remains in the container. This will help prevent glass from cracking or breaking and will protect surfaces from heat damage.
- Do not burn container candles that are cracked or chipped.
- Allow candle to completely cool before moving or replacing the lid.
Melt Care
- Remove all packaging before using.
- Place melt in the top of a dry melt burner. Switch on electric burner or light tealight beneath burner. The melt will liquefy completely and disperse scent.
- NEVER add water to melted wax!
- Do not move burner while wax is liquefied.
- To change or replace melt, wait until wax has completely hardened then pop it out of the burner. See Candle Tips section above if you have a hard time getting wax out of the burner.
Smelly Jelly Care
- Remove sealing disc.
- Do not tilt jar (contents may spill/leak out).
- Do not place smelly jellies on heating/warming plates.
- Smelly Jellies are NOT edible! Keep away from children and pets.
- Do not dispose contents down any household drains.
- To optimize scent throw, use where there is a draft or continuous flow of air. For example, you can set the jar in front of a fan to disperse scent.
- To refresh crystals, stir in 1 tablespoon of water every few months. Use a wooden dowel or plastic knife to stir. Dispose of utensil after stirring.
- Avoid contact with eyes or skin.
Votive Care
- Burn in holders that fit closely around votive. Closer fitting holders will allow your votive to burn properly and last longer. Do not burn votive freestanding. Our votives will liquefy.
- Our votives are meant to liquefy if burned in the proper holder. Burn in a holder that will contain the full amount of melted wax if the whole votive were to liquefy.
- Extinguish flame if it gets too close to the holder. Discontinue burning when ½ inch of wax remains in the holder. This will help prevent glass holders from cracking or breaking and will help protect surfaces from heat damage.
- Do not burn votives in chipped or cracked holders.
